The World Boxing Association (WBA) obligated Usyk to fight Dubois, and after both sides failed to reach a contract by the deadline, the promotional bidding was won by the Ukrainian's team. As a result of this deal, Usyk will receive 75% of the prize money for this fight.

Usyk, who has 20 wins in 20 fights, holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), International Boxing Organization (IBO) and WBA Super heavyweight championship belts.
