Usyk-Fury rematch to take place in December

The two heavyweight boxers were unable to finally settle the score in the fight that took place on May 18, 2024, so a contract for the next meeting was signed back then, in the spring. At the moment, the fight is purely symbolic, as Usyk has given up his title in favor of Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua. In the end, Daniel Dubois pacified his opponent, and his spectacular victory over Anthony Joshua confirmed the high status of the British fighter.

Usyk showed up for the press conference for the fight dressed as a secret agent from a popular American game, which would be more typical of his opponent. Even during the fight with Klitschko, Fury came to meet with journalists dressed as Batman, and shocked the public in every possible way. He is one of the most scandalous MMA fighters, who either harasses his opponents online or sings offensive chants in the ring. 

Now both athletes are actively preparing for the rematch. The May fight was declared in favor of Usyk, but not by a unanimous decision of the judges. The Gypsy King has repeatedly expressed his doubts about the fairness of Alexander's victory after the fact. Now everything is getting ready to be resolved at the Kingdom Arena on December 21, and fans are eagerly awaiting the meeting of two world-famous heavyweights, who are no strangers to championship titles and prestigious belts. 

Also in May, Fury said that Usyk was awarded the victory because of the flag - they say that the judges wanted to express solidarity with Ukraine, which is drawn into a military conflict. According to The Independent, Fury received about $105 million, Usyk - $45 million for that May fight. How much the fighters will receive for the rematch has not yet been announced, but there is no doubt that the fighters will receive impressive fees. The fight was scheduled for February, but it was cancelled due to a cut Tyson received during training, which required a long recovery for the athlete. And Fury was not in the best shape at the time, if you believe his managers - the fighter was caught on camera drunk, and again began visiting his psychoanalyst, struggling with depression after losing to Usyk. At the time, Usyk's manager Egis Klimas accused the Gypsy King of simply making a clever move to avoid entering the ring. Whether this is true, we will most likely never know, but fans of the athletes are happy that the rematch in Saudi Arabia will still take place in December.
